- Start with Love: You love the game. You can’t play or improve without opponents so learn to love them. It’s more fun this way! Also, respect the rules of tennis and abide by “Friend at Court, Handbook of Rules and Regulations” originally written by Jack Stahr and now carried forward by the USTA. Download a copy in the “Files” section of Senior Tennis TIPS.
- Be Original: Share From Your Experience: Think of membership in STT as a friendly after-match conversation based on your originality and personal tennis experience. Please don’t post promotions, products, tennis news, instructional videos / images you found on YouTube or elsewhere. If you are a creator, ask for further guidelines before posting. STT curates within our editorial and promotional guidelines. Without this Group Rule, the site will turn into a post-fest and ruin our vibe.
- Sportsmanship Ladies and Gentlemen: Be a good member of the club. Make good line Calls. Give the benefit of the doubt. Don’t get easily offended. At this stage of our lives, get over it! Play fair. Give more than you take. Be kind to one another. Being a jerk with your comments, behavior, or inappropriate images will get you banned faster than Isner’s flat serve.
- Tennis Reflects Life: We talk purpose here. If occasional spiritual references offend you, retire from match and find another place to play.
- All Tennis, No Politics: Tennis balls are yellow and white (remember those), not blue or red.
- Don’t poach. No Selling on Senior Tennis TIPS. Save your poaching for doubles. Poaching members by spamming this group with your advertisement will get you overhead smashed and bounced out of the membership. If you have a product or service to promote, ask about our promotional placement arrangements. Direct advertising is not accepted. Learn more here. STT discloses its financial interest in the Guide section. Qualifying purchases through links may support STT operating costs with commissions.
- Report Inappropriate Post to the Referees: Together let’s keep the site kind, clean, and fun. When you see posts that’s inappropriate, spam, or pornographic, report the post to the administrator (referee) using Facebook’s built in function (the three dots … to the right of the poster’s name). Look for the Report tab on the menu and use it.
